Butterflies In My Belly

After a few days of scratching my head and wondering "Could it really be?", I'm totally convinced I feel baby #2 moving around in here! Every now and then, I feel these tiny little flutters and thumps that will stop me dead in my tracks hoping so badly to feel it again. It's by far my favorite part of pregnancy.

I first felt Garrett moving around week 18. I've read it's not uncommon to feel the second baby move sooner.

It's also not uncommon to look like you are 25 weeks pregnant when you are actually only 16 weeks pregnant the second time around. At least that's what I'm telling myself. I lost 6 lbs in the first few months of this pregnancy due to all the nausea and vomiting. At my last check up, I was shocked to see that I've only gained 4 of the 6 lbs back so far. My belly seems so big...along with my appetite.

I am feeling SO much better these days. I am only taking half of a Zofran a day.

Garrett either thinks the baby is in my belly button or IS my belly button. Either way it's the cutest thing when he sees my belly, spits out his paci, and kisses my belly button. I hope I can get it on camera!

Right now I'm counting down the days til the ultrasound. I am dying to know the gender so I can get started on the nursery.

Only 3 more weeks!

Happy Valentine's Day

For the past eight years, I've been lucky enough to call this man my Valentine. He's. The. Best. He's the milk to my cookie, the cheese to my macaroni, the chocolate to my strawberry. Speaking of chocolate strawberries, that's just what I made for my Valentine this year.

I found these beauties in February at Wal Mart, of all places. I bought three different types of chocolate to dip them in.

White chocolate...

milk chocolate...
and Justin's favorite...dark chocolate.
I drizzled the leftover melted chocolate on the strawberries to make 'em look fancy.
They were almost too pretty to eat!
I did say almost too pretty to eat.
Justin,
Happy Valentine's Day!
Thank you for such a fun and special weekend.
I wish I could have you to myself all day today but, luckily, I have Garrett and the box of Whitman's chocolates you bought me here to keep me company.
You are the greatest man and I am so honored to be your Valentine.
I love you,
Angie

Second Trimester

Today I am 14 weeks pregnant. I have officially enter my second trimester. I had a OBGYN appointment scheduled for today but had to reschedule for next week due to a very sick little boy. So far, this pregnancy hasn't been much different from Garrett's. The nausea/vomiting is getting better with each passing week. I still throw up first thing EVERY morning. I did that the whole nine months during Garrett's pregnancy so I think I can handle it.

I'd have to say my favorite thing about this pregnancy so far is being able to hear the baby's heartbeat whenever I want. Jamie purchased a fetal Doppler during her pregnancy with Hayden and graciously allowed me borrow it. I'm obsessed with it! It's so comforting and reassuring to be able to turn it on and listen to that sweet, sweet sound. Thanks again Jamie!

As of week 14, the baby is now about 3.5 inches long and weighs about 1.5 ounces. My belly is definitely pooching out much quicker this time around. My abdominal muscles just aren't as tight after giving birth to Garrett. Yeah...it's all his fault. It had nothing to do with the FORTY POUNDS I packed on during that pregnancy.

Please continue to keep our family in your prayers.

One trimester down, two to go!

Look What I Know!

I've been trying to get this on video for months now but every time I get out the camera, Garrett loses concentration and just wants to grab at my camera. It finally dawned on me to do it while he's in the tub where there's plenty of distractions.

I know he's practically out of view in the first few seconds. I was just doing my best to respect and protect his privacy :)
